Based on 'Seven Scenes from the Gospel of John', this publication was inspired by a comparative study of two men who figure prominently in John’s Gospel: Simon Peter and the Disciple Jesus loved.
Looking at their developing relationship with Jesus and with each other, and the changes that came about in their behaviour as a result, it is possible to learn so much more about them than appears on the surface.
Lessons for today can also be found in emotive areas such as love and betrayal, important aspects of our own role as witnesses, and of being prepared to give reasons for the hope that we have.
