Some may ask “Why look at the Minor Prophets?” After all, many of them lived over 2,500 years ago. One simple answer to this question is given by Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16 which says,
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Every word of Scripture can teach us more about God — about how He deals with mankind — and about others in the past who have spent their lives trying to follow Him, and ultimately serve as examples to us today. We can learn from what they said, especially if we find out a little about their background … when they wrote, who they wrote to, and what prompted them to write as they did.
