Many, in Bullinger’s day, felt that Protestant Christianity, in general, and the Bible, in particular were being attacked with great force by the atheistic rationalists, with their new found god evolution, and by Roman Catholicism, with some of its extra-Biblical teaching. Bullinger upholds the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures and considers its claims and how it meets the needs of its readers.
