In his Preface the author states “Revelation is a mountain too vast to scale, an ocean too deep to fathom.” However, he does a very good job in reaching those hights and depths and, in clear language, carries the reader along with him.
Revelation is a letter written to seven churches, for whom John had pastoral oversight. His purpose in writing was to make known to them the series of awe-inspiring visions he had received from the Lord relating to the end times, the times immediately preceding (and including) the visible return of Jesus Christ to this earth.
It makes exciting reading and when God once again intervenes in the affairs of men, the whole world will know it.
